Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 February 2026 Effective from: 22 February 2026 Operator: PiePilot AI Ltd. ("PiePilot", "we", "us", "our") Contact: legal@piepilot.ai
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account on PiePilot AI, accessing the website at https://piepilot.ai (or any associated subdomain), installing the Progressive Web App, or otherwise using any of our services (collectively, the "Service"), you ("you", "User") agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. Continued use of the Service after a material update to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised version. We will notify registered Users by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before any material change takes effect.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts in your jurisdiction to use PiePilot. The Service is not directed at users in the United States; if you are accessing it from a jurisdiction where the Service is restricted by local financial-services law, it is your responsibility to refrain from using it.
2. What PiePilot Is — and What It Is Not
2.1 PiePilot IS an educational AI copilot.
PiePilot is a software-only educational tool that uses generative artificial intelligence ("AI") — currently powered by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.5 — to:
- Analyse simulated and (in future versions) real-broker portfolios you connect to your account;
- Generate market sentiment classifications, rebalancing suggestions, risk calculations, daily morning briefings, and contextual "Golden Lessons" delivered in your chosen language;
- Provide a conversational support assistant ("PilotBot") for product help and educational questions.
2.2 PiePilot is NOT a regulated financial services firm.
- PiePilot is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") in the United Kingdom, the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários ("CVM") in Brazil, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores ("CNMV") in Spain, or by any other financial-services regulator anywhere in the world.
- We do not provide personalised investment advice, a personal recommendation under FCA COBS 9, an investment-management service, portfolio management, a regulated benchmark, or any service that would require a regulatory authorisation under the UK Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, MiFID II, the Brazilian Securities Law 6.385/76, or analogous statutes.
- We do not execute trades on your behalf, hold client money, custody securities, or accept deposits.
- Nothing on the Service constitutes — and nothing should be relied upon as — investment, tax, legal, accounting or other professional advice. The output of our AI is general educational content designed to teach you investing concepts and surface ideas for further research. It is not a personal recommendation tailored to your individual circumstances.
You alone are responsible for every investment decision you make. Before acting on anything you see on PiePilot, consult an FCA-authorised financial adviser (UK), a CVM-registered professional (Brazil), a CNMV-authorised adviser (Spain), or the equivalent regulator in your jurisdiction. Capital invested in real markets is at risk; past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
2.3 AI-specific notice
Generative AI systems can be confidently wrong. We continuously test our prompts and apply guardrails, but the AI may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased or misleading output. You agree to treat every AI-generated insight as a starting point for further research, not as a directive. Where any AI-generated content carries an "AI Insight" badge (the small ⓘ icon next to a suggestion), clicking that badge will display this same disclaimer in plain language.
2.4 AI Pie Builder — basket construction is educational only
The "Build a Pie with AI", "Build it freely with AI advisor", and any per-asset analysis card (showing past performance, current news, future thesis, valuation/debt/risk verdicts and a suggested maximum weight) are educational tools designed to help you research and visualise a basket of assets.
- The basket the AI generates or you assemble on PiePilot is not a personal recommendation, financial advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security.
- Suggested portfolio weights and the "Suggested max weight %" indicator are classroom heuristics, not personal advice. Your actual ideal weighting depends on your full financial situation, tax position, risk tolerance, time horizon and other factors PiePilot has no visibility of.
- Sector concentration warnings, redundancy detections, risk scores, and diversification scores are algorithmic observations based on public data — they may be incomplete or wrong and should not be the sole basis for an investment decision.
- Any output referring to a ticker, valuation, news headline or market metric is as of the moment of analysis and may be stale by the time you act on it.
2.5 Broker handoff — you execute, we do not
PiePilot does not route, place, custody, settle, or otherwise execute any order. The "Apply at your broker" handoff screen, the copy-to-clipboard list, the CSV download, and the broker-specific instructions (Trading 212, eToro, Interactive Brokers, Revolut, Freetrade and others) are display aids only. They exist so you can manually re-enter the basket at the broker of your choice.
- You acknowledge that opening a brokerage account, funding it, placing orders, and bearing the resulting market and counterparty risk are activities entirely between you and the broker you select. PiePilot has no agreement with any broker mentioned on the handoff screen unless we explicitly say otherwise on the page itself.
- Broker logos, names, deep-links and feature hints are provided for navigation convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement, partnership, or affiliate relationship unless expressly disclosed.
- The "I executed this!" confirmation that PiePilot may invite you to mark after a handoff is a self-reported event for your own tracking. PiePilot does not verify, audit, or have access to your brokerage account.
2.6 Founder & lifetime offers
The "Founder" 50%-off-forever discount, the Wall of Founders page, and any "Founder #N" badge are marketing benefits tied to a Stripe coupon. They do not create any financial obligation, guarantee, advisory relationship, or special service tier beyond the published Pro/Elite plan feature set. If the Stripe coupon is later modified, discontinued or replaced by Stripe for any reason, your specific discount rights are governed by Stripe's coupon terms and the renewal price visible on your subscription dashboard.
3. Your Account
3.1 Eligibility and accuracy
You must register with a valid email address and a password that complies with our minimum-strength requirements. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. You may not share your account with any other person. You must promptly notify us at security@piepilot.ai if you suspect unauthorised access.
3.2 Identity & demo data
PiePilot does not currently verify your real identity (no KYC/AML), because we do not handle client money. Portfolios you create in the onboarding flow are simulated unless and until you explicitly connect a real broker via our integrations (currently in development). Mock data is for educational visualisation only and does not represent any real holding, price or transaction.
3.3 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law (including securities law, anti-money-laundering rules, sanctions, or consumer-protection law);
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, mass-download, or build a competing product from the Service;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our infrastructure, or breach our security or authentication measures;
- Submit any input designed to jailbreak, prompt-inject, exfiltrate other users' data, or manipulate our AI to produce regulated investment advice, illegal content, or content infringing third-party rights;
- Use automated means (bots, scripts) to access the Service beyond what our public APIs permit;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialise our AI output as if it were your own;
- Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, harmful to minors, or that contains personal data of any third party without their lawful basis.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without prior notice; in serious cases we may report the conduct to the competent authority.
4. Subscriptions, Trials & Billing
4.1 Free tier, Pro & Elite
PiePilot offers a free tier with limited features (one AI briefing per week, base lessons, basic portfolio analysis). Paid tiers ("Pro" and "Elite") unlock daily AI briefings, real-time email/WhatsApp alerts (where available), priority Claude refresh, advanced analytics and other features as listed on the pricing page. The current list and price of each tier is shown at https://piepilot.ai/pricing and forms part of these Terms.
4.2 Free trial
We offer a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial. You must provide a valid payment method via Stripe at the start of the trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card will be charged the recurring monthly fee shown at checkout, and your subscription will automatically renew month-to-month at that price. This complies with Stripe's billing requirements and with regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK).
4.3 Renewal & cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time in Settings → Account → Cancel Premium subscription. Cancellation is effective immediately: you lose access to paid features at the next charging-cycle boundary; we do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a current month.
4.4 Statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (EU/UK consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the first charge, no reason required, by emailing billing@piepilot.ai. You expressly agree that the Service begins immediately and that, if you use the Service substantively during the 14-day window, we may deduct an amount proportional to the value of the Service supplied (s 36(4) Consumer Rights Act 2015). Where the entire trial period overlaps with your withdrawal window and no charge has occurred, no fee applies.
4.5 Refund Policy
Beyond the statutory 14-day right above, we operate a transparent goodwill refund policy designed to be fair to honest customers and resistant to abuse:
- How to request: email billing@piepilot.ai from the address registered to your account, including your subscription email and a short reason. We aim to respond within 3 business days.
- How refunds are processed: approved refunds are issued back to the same card / payment method used at checkout, via Stripe. Stripe typically takes 5–10 business days to return funds to your bank.
- What we will refund:
- Within the statutory 14-day window (UK/EU consumers): full refund, except a fair deduction for substantive Service use as set out in §4.4.
- Outside 14 days, but within the current billing month: pro-rated refund where you have not used Elite-tier features (no AI briefings opened, no premium alerts triggered) since the renewal.
- Duplicate charge, unrecognised charge, or technical failure of the Service for more than 48 consecutive hours: full refund.
- What we will NOT refund: prior billing months that were paid and consumed in full; refunds requested after 120 days from the original charge; accounts that breached §3.3 (Acceptable use) leading to suspension or termination.
- Anti-abuse: a User is entitled to one goodwill refund every 12 months for the same email/payment instrument. Repeated subscribe-then-refund cycles within that period will be declined, and the account may be flagged in our anti-fraud system.
Cancelling your subscription is independent of requesting a refund: you can self-serve cancellation at any time in Settings → Account → Cancel Premium subscription (see §4.3). Cancelling stops future charges but does not, by itself, refund a past charge — for that, follow the email process above.
4.6 Pricing changes
We may change subscription prices on 30 days' written notice to your registered email address. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance; otherwise, cancel before that date and the new price will not apply to you.
4.7 Payment processor
All payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe holds it under PCI-DSS Level 1 controls. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Our content
The Service, its source code, design, AI-prompt engineering, lesson library, branding (including "PiePilot", "PilotBot", "Golden Lessons", and the emerald-flag logo), and all derivative output are owned by PiePilot AI Ltd. or our licensors. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
5.2 Your inputs and AI output
You retain ownership of any portfolio data, notes or messages you submit to the Service ("User Inputs"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to process User Inputs solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, and to comply with legal obligations. Where you connect a real broker (future feature), processing will be limited to that purpose.
AI-generated output is provided to you under the same limited licence as the Service itself: personal, non-commercial educational use. You may not republish AI output in a way that suggests it is regulated financial advice or that it originates from a regulated firm.
5.3 Aggregated, de-identified data
We may compute and retain de-identified, aggregated statistics derived from User Inputs (e.g. "users who selected the Tech & Growth template most commonly hold NVDA"). Such statistics are not Personal Data under GDPR/UK GDPR and may be used freely to improve the Service.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers, each with their own terms and privacy notices:
- Anthropic (Claude Sonnet 4.5) — AI inference; see Anthropic's Usage Policies.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- MongoDB Atlas / equivalent — data persistence (within the EEA where contractually possible).
- Trading 212, eToro, Revolut, Freetrade, Vanguard — broker integrations (currently simulated; real-API integration on roadmap).
- Twilio (future) — SMS / WhatsApp delivery.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, terms, or privacy practices of any third party.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
7.1 As-is, as-available
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation), to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
7.2 No reliance / no liability for trading losses
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PiePilot, its officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, including but not limited to: investment losses; loss of profit, revenue, savings, business or goodwill; cost of substitute services; or losses arising from your reliance on AI-generated insights, sentiment classifications, "Golden Lessons", or any other output of the Service.
7.3 Liability cap
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, our aggregate liability to you under or in connection with these Terms in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of (a) £100, or (b) the total subscription fees you paid to PiePilot in that 12-month period. Nothing in this clause limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7.4 Force majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to outages at our cloud provider, AI model unavailability, payment-processor incidents, regulatory action, or cyberattack.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PiePilot AI Ltd., its officers, employees and agents from any third-party claim, loss, liability, damage, fine or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your unlawful use of the Service; (c) your reliance on AI-generated output to make a real-world financial decision; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if required by law, or if continued provision would expose us to legal or regulatory risk. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it in Settings → Danger Zone, which triggers our GDPR Article 17 erasure flow (see Privacy Policy §10).
On termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. We will retain payment records as required by tax law (typically 7 years in the UK and 5 years in Brazil), anonymised where possible.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer resident in another jurisdiction, in which case your local mandatory consumer-protection laws apply. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that a consumer may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
EU consumers also have access to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
11. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any tier-specific terms shown at checkout) constitute the entire agreement between you and PiePilot.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in force.
- No assignment. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign these Terms to a successor entity (e.g. on a merger or acquisition) on notice.
- No third-party beneficiaries. Save where expressly stated, these Terms do not confer rights on any third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- Notices. We will notify you at the email address associated with your account. Notices to us go to legal@piepilot.ai.
